About this place
The dish that first catches the eye at Eiraku is curry soba: noodles topped with curry thickened into a sauce. Diners describe the curry as slightly sweet, with black pepper bringing a spicy finish. The thick sauce stays hot and clings well to the noodles. Others say the sauce makes more of an impression than the curry flavour itself. Rather than expecting pronounced curry heat, it may be better to think of this as a bowl of noodles with a thickened vegetable sauce. Half-rice is also on the menu, a possible way to enjoy every last bit of sauce.
Meat soba offers a different take on thickened-sauce noodles. One lunch report describes a translucent, pale broth-style sauce with Chinese cabbage, onion, wood ear mushrooms and bamboo shoots, served with smooth, springy thin noodles. The portion was substantial, even with the vegetables and noodles eaten together; adding half-rice makes for a more filling meal. For a vegetable-led bowl, there are also tanmen and bean sprout soba. Diners have remarked on the generous vegetables, clean-tasting soup and flavourful noodles in the tanmen. One diner found the noodle portion so large that a small serving of rice was enough. If ordering noodles with rice, starting with a smaller rice portion could be a good idea.
A combination of light soy-sauce Chinese noodles and half-fried rice is another popular lunch choice. Diners describe the ramen broth as clean-tasting and the noodles as easy to eat, making the set a good option when you want a more substantial meal with fried rice. Alongside Eiraku ramen, the noodle menu includes roast pork ramen and yakisoba.
Eiraku works for a solo lunch over noodles as well as an evening meal shared over stir-fries and other dishes. Beer, including bottled beer, is on the menu. You can pair noodles with half-fried rice or share several à la carte dishes, depending on your group. Payment is cash only.
